Hon. Kay Palacios Delivers Keynote at CODA 10th Annual Conference

The Hon. Kay Palacios delivered the keynote address at the 10th Anniversary of New Jersey Conference on Dominican Affairs held on Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Rutgers School of Law in Newark, NJ.  Palacios made history as one of the first two Dominicans ever elected to office in the United States of America.  She was elected Councilwoman in Englewood Cliffs, NJ on November 4, 1991. CODA Congratulates Victoria Pratt on her appointment as a judge to the Newark Municipal Court

Newark, NJ – November 11, 2009 – Victoria Pratt was sworn in yesterday as the first Dominican judge to sit on the Newark city bench.

Following a career that included being counsel to city council president Mildred Crump; working in the counsel’s office for governors Jim McGreevey and Richard Codey, and being the compliance officer for the Camden school district that helped uncover rampant fraud and put one principal behind bars; Pratt takes the bench as the 11th Newark municipal judge.
