The Institute for Latino Studies, Research & Development, Inc., (The Institute), is a non-profit entity, recognized by the federal government as a 501 (c) (3) organization. The Institute’s main undertaking is to study, research, preserve, disseminate and develop the rich literary, and cultural heritage of Latinos in the United States.  This goal is achieved through the implementation of in-house and outreach programs and activities. 

The Institute demonstrates its commitment to this mission by becoming an effective community resource, which enhances the knowledge and awareness of Latino endeavors within the framework of a multicultural society.  Through unity of purpose of our Board of Directors, staff and dedicated volunteers, we help forge a brighter future for the Latino community.

The Institute believes that a solid education in cultural self-identity is an important foundation within a multi-cultural society and an essential tool in this society’s quest for healthy and productive inter-ethnic relations.
