The questionnaire will be sent to households throughout the United States by March 15-17, 2010.

The Census form includes 10 questions expected to be answered in ten minutes. The Census Bureau requires that form is filled in appropriately to account for everyone living in the United States as of April 1, 2010.“It is very important that all Dominicans and Hispanics in the United States and Puerto Rico answer correctly question number 8 about “Hispanic Origin,” said Nestor Montilla, President of the DANR. “To answer this question correctly, Dominicans are encouraged to write “Dominican” in the space provided.

“The DANR would like to remind all Dominicans that the 2010 Census form should be sent back promptly to the US Census on or before April 1st, 2010,” said Julio Guridy, DANR Vice President and Councilman in Allentown, PA.

Households that do not mail back the form will be visited by census takers.

“The US Census Bureau aims at counting all U.S. residents, including citizens and non-citizens regardless of their immigration status,” said the Hon. Claribel Matinez-Marmolejos, Vice President for DANR Affairs in Puerto Rico. “Census data help government determine the number of seats per state in the U.S. House of Representatives, and how more than $400 billion dollars are spent on infrastructure and provision of services at hospitals, schools, senior centers, and job training centers.”
