DANR to Host a National Summit Reception On Capitol Hill with Dominican American Leaders from Across the US

DANR - Logo 300Washington, DC. –  In observation of the 166th Anniversary of the Independence of the Dominican Republic, the Dominican-American National Roundtable (DANR) will host a Summit Reception on Capitol Hill in Room H-137 on Monday, March 1, 2010 starting at 6:30 pm.

 

“On behalf of the DANR National Board of Directors, members, supporters and friends, the Dominican American National Roundtable will convene dozens of leaders from across the United States at a Summit Reception on Capitol Hill to commemorate the Independence of the Dominican Republic and follow-up discussion of most pressing issues impacting our communities,” said Nestor Montilla, DANR President and Chairman of the Board. “The DANR would like to thank US Congressman Charles Rangel and the leaders who have confirmed their participation at the summit reception in Washington, DC.”

 

“We are coming to Washington, DC on Monday, March 1st to follow-up conversation about the DANR agenda announced by President Montilla while delivering the “First DANR State of Dominicans in the US Address” at the DANR 12th Annual National Conference held in Walt Disney World this past December 4-6, 2009 in Orlando, Florida,” said Hon. Julio Guridy, DANR Vice President and Councilman in Allentown Pennsylvania.

The Dominican American National Roundtable is a non-partisan Washington, D.C.  based organization that advocates for the empowerment of over 2 million Dominicans in the United States and Puerto Rico. The DANR is a non-profit 501(c) (3) organization established in 1997 and incorporated in 2000. We are the first and only national organization advocating on behalf of the growing Dominican American community in areas concerning education, health, economic development, and civic empowerment at the national level.
